The people. The process. The details.

Useful context. Clear boundaries.

Practical insurance information, with the limits of a general guide made clear.

Updated

At a glance

Our resource library explains insurance questions that arise in startup contracts, hiring and fundraising. It is educational material, not a coverage determination or legal advice. Your actual policy, circumstances and carrier response matter more than any example in a guide.

What these guides are for

Use the library to understand terminology, organize questions and prepare for a conversation with your insurance representative. Contract examples illustrate insurance requirements; they are not legal drafting advice or clauses you should copy without counsel.

Prices, timelines and examples

  • Prices: Budgeting examples are not evidence of what every company pays. Limits, revenue, payroll, location, operations, claims and carrier underwriting affect the actual quote.
  • Timelines: Planning ranges are not binding or certificate guarantees. A complete application, underwriting approval and the carrier’s process determine when coverage can start.
  • Coverage: A summary cannot capture every exclusion, condition or endorsement. Read the actual policy and ask about wording that matters to your business.
  • Provider comparisons: We explain buying models rather than publish unsupported rankings or endorsements of named competitors.

The cost guide explains budgeting assumptions. The coverage and placement guide explains what to prepare before a deadline.

Review and changes

An update date identifies an editorial change; it does not certify an independent audit, legal review or current quote. Guides don’t name a reviewer unless that review is complete. No independent broker or counsel review is represented as complete.

We do not present invented customer reviews, paid rankings or unsourced placement figures as evidence. Where a factual correction is needed, we can revise the relevant page without promising a fixed quarterly schedule or an unsupported response deadline.

Our role is to explain insurance options and policy terms. Your counsel should advise on contract interpretation, employment decisions, indemnities, regulatory obligations and negotiations. A contract check does not replace that advice.

A few more answers

Frequently asked questions

Are the cost ranges quotes or measured market averages?

No. Unless a source and methodology are specifically identified, dollar ranges are illustrative budgeting examples, not quotes, a placement dataset or a promise of available pricing. Obtain a quote for your own company before making a purchase decision.

Does a guide establish whether my claim is covered?

No. Coverage depends on the policy, endorsements, facts, reporting requirements and applicable law. The insurer evaluates the actual claim. Speak with your licensed insurance representative and counsel about your circumstances.

How do I report a possible error?

Call 888.898.6378 with the page address and the statement you want us to check. We do not promise a fixed correction response time or use the contract-check upload form for correction reports.

General information, not a coverage determination. Policy wording, carrier, state, and your company’s operations determine what applies.
